This year for our community donation we have decided to put a call out for knit hats to be given to Good Neighbor Center in Tigard. With the cold winter months coming, there are many families without permanent living situations who rely on the services Good Neighbor Center offers. They provide beds and meals to families in critical need, and they are largely supported by volunteers in the community. So we as knitters and crocheters wanted to contribute what we’re best at - hand knit and crocheted hats! Since this is a family center, hats of all shapes, sizes and colors are needed. We would like to collect them through the end of the year to be donated in January. For a full list of services and needs that Good Neighbor Center has, visit their website. One of the things we like about Good Neighbor Center is that what is donated locally stays local!
This basic ribbed pattern is great for hats that are being donated because they stretch to accommodate heads of many shapes and sizes. This is Basic Ribbed Hat by Anne Laird, knit with Cascade 220 Superwash Wave, which does a fun gradual color change.
